sustainable use of forest genetic resources in Europe. EUFORGEN operates through networks in which forest

International Co-operative Programme on Assessment and
Monitoring of Air Pollution Effects on Forests.
ICP Forests was launched in 1985 under the Convention on Long-Range Transboundary Air Pollution of the United
Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN/ECE) due to the growing public awareness of possible adverse
effects of air pollution on forests. ICP Forests monitors the forest condition in Europe, using two different
monitoring intensity levels in cooperation with the European Union.
